These handmade tongs bring together the strength of copper and the movement of water. The blades are carved from beech and shaped with a fishtail gouge, leaving a textured surface that ripples like the surface of the ocean — tactile, flowing, and full of character.

Each set is painted in a deep sea teal using traditional milk paint, then sealed with food-safe oil and Cornish beeswax to protect the surface while allowing the grain and carving to show through.

The action comes from a hand-forged copper spring, formed by hammer and flame, then riveted in place with copper boat nails and peened over copper roves — a nod to Cornwall’s maritime heritage and traditional boatbuilding techniques.

The tongs open with a satisfying spring and close with precision. Functional, sculptural, and rich with texture, they are suited for serving at the table or hanging proudly in the kitchen.

Named for Falmouth, a town shaped by tides and trade, where metal, timber, and craftsmanship have long met.

Each pair is unique — a tool made slowly, to serve with both beauty and intent.
