Stool-Making Workshop Summer 2025
£175.00

Come and spend a day in my workshop this summer, making a three-legged stool from fresh, local timber. Set on the edge of wildflower meadows and woodland near Camelford in North Cornwall, it’s a quiet, inspiring spot to focus, slow down, and work with your hands.
During the course, you’ll learn how to use the natural properties of the wood to your advantage—understanding how it shrinks, bends and behaves as you shape each component. Working with tools like the drawknife, travisher, spokeshave, rounding plane, augers and tapered reamer, you’ll carve, build and refine your stool from green ash and oak. Everyone has their own dedicated workstation, and I’ll guide you through each step of the process.
The day runs from 10am to 5pm, with regular breaks and plenty of tea, coffee and snacks to keep you going. All materials are included, and no previous experience is needed—just a willingness to get stuck in and try something new.
There are only three places available on each course to keep things personal, focused and relaxed.
