Tonnek Mordon - Wavy Sea Boowl

24cm x 9cm
A bold, sculptural bowl turned from green beech, then painted in a vibrant coastal blue using traditional milk paint. The outer wall is carved with large, undulating waves — strong, sweeping textures that echo breakers rolling to shore or the shifting skin of open water.
Among the curves, a small copper mend glints through — a single, quiet repair that ties the bowl to both story and place. Set like a memory into the surface, the copper tells of use, care, and continuation — a nod to Cornwall’s ancient relationship with this elemental metal.
The form carries a gentle wave at the rim and a practical, open shape suited to both use and display. Finished with food-safe oil and Cornish beeswax, the surface holds light like a tide pool at noon.
The name Tonnek Mordon means “wavy sea” in Cornish — a phrase that feels as much like a sound as a meaning. This is a piece made not to imitate the sea, but to belong to it.
Each one is carved by hand and made slowly — not shaped into perfection, but shaped into presence.
